Neuvy-sur-Barangeon

At the crossroads of  Bourges, Orléans, Tours, Vierzon and Auxerre, this town is a stopover must for its crafts and shops, and for its multitude of natural attractions: heaths and wooded areas, three huge fishing ponds, la Tourbière de la Guette with its carnivorous plants, and the first class Barangeon river, with its ancient mill and wash-house.  An extensive network of hiking trails will enable you to easily discover this fascinating part of Sologne.

As you stroll through the village, in front of the church you will come upon a sculpture in honor of the internationally distinguished song writer Olivier Messiaen (1908-1992), known for his operatic opus, Saint Francis of Assisi.

Each year from October to June the municipality proposes a season of top-notch cultural events. The program is available at the Town Hall and the Tourist Office.
