Villages de la forêt - Office de Tourisme Nançay-Sologne

Come to discover 5 exceptional villages:
Nançay, Neuvy-sur-Barangeon, Vouzeron, Saint-Laurent et Vignoux-sur-Barangeon

Home / What to see / The Woodland Villages / Vignoux-sur-Barangeon

Vignoux-sur-Barangeon is the southern gateway to  Sologne and the eastern entrance to the area known as the “Pays de Vierzon”. Three rivers, the Yèvre, the Barangeon, and the Croulas, run through this village of 2143 inhabitants.

Three water mills still stand on their shores: the Vernusse, the Sein and the Moulin Neuf. You can trace the history of the village by consulting two archeological sites (“La Vernusse” and “le Vieux Vignoux”),and by admiring the Château du Blosset (Route de Saint-Laurent), or the  Château de Villemenard (Route de Mehun à Vouzeron).

Fishing is the king of activities here, but, you can also practice sports at the modern multi-sports center or ride horseback at the equestrian center.

Safe hiking trails abound, they will lead you to discover the marvels of the region's moors and woodlands.

The riding stables at Croulas is yet another departure point for agreeable short rides and excursions.

The town has all of the necessary shops and conveniences; a daycare center has recently opened, and three restaurants provide quality cuisine.
